Ron Taylor is a realist watercolor artist known for his clarity of detail and richness of color. Ron lives in Concord, NC and maintains a gallery and working studio in Oakboro that features his original paintings and limited edition prints. The gallery is located on Main Street in a building called “The Art House” in partnership with The Bechtler Gallery. Creative works by other regional artists and custom framing service are also offered. In addition, select works from Andreas Bechtler’s contemporary modern art collection are available for viewing.
Ron’s paintings cover a wide range of subjects including rural landscapes, historic images and coastal scenes. The love and respect of his southern heritage is evident from the nostalgic themes that are conveyed in Ron’s paintings, as they often depict a way of life that is slowly disappearing.
Ron feels that watercolor is the perfect medium for him because it is ideal for emphasizing textures and detail. “There are no hidden agendas in my paintings, but, if my art can stir a past memory, or arouse an emotion, then I’ve accomplished my role as an artist.”
