Welcome to the website of North Carolina watercolorist Ron Taylor.

Ron refers to his painting style as “rustic realism”, emphasizing texture and detail, while drawn to subjects of  weathered character, seasoned by time and the elements. Although many of Ron’s paintings convey nostalgic themes that often depict a way of life that is slowly disappearing, he prefers not to limit himself to these themes as he occasionally branches out into more contemporary directions. He believes his artistic challenge with each painting is to create something that connects with the viewer visually and emotionally while revealing things that are not obvious to the casual observer.

Ron is currently accepting commission requests to paint your homeplace, barn, nostalgic photo, horse portrait, or other cherished subject. Ron can usually work from your photos but may have to take additional photos if warranted. Prices vary by size, subject and hours to complete. Contact Ron by phone or email for a quote.
